Festival of Writing at Curtin

The Festival of Writing at Curtin will take place on Saturday the 20th of September, celebrating 50 years of creative writing and 25 years of professional writing and publishing at Curtin University.

There will be many events, including panel discussions on creativity and writing. In addition, morning writing workshops How to pitch to a publisher and Table of objects: flash fiction will go from 9:00 to 10:45 a.m.

Prominent and emerging Australian authors will be featured throughout the day, such as Kim Scott, David Whish-Wilson, Renee Pettitt-Schipp and many more. Natasha Lester will give the inaugural Liz Byrski Lecture.

The event will be held in The Lantern (the 7th floor) of the TL Robertson Library on the Curtin University campus in Bentley.

As well as this, there is currently an exhibition held on the 3rd floor of the library about the history of writing and publishing at Curtin University, including information on Brian Dibble, Elizabeth Jolley and Liz Byrski as some of the founders of Curtin’s writing programs.
