Running Tracks
By Jotham Kingston
Music. Running. Pizza Night.
These are Ant Barnett’s favourite things. The music was his mum’s and is a great soundtrack for running. As for Pizza Night, it’s sort of like her legacy.
Part-way through Year 7, Ant befriends the new girl, Molly. But this risks trouble from his classmates, particularly Holden and the Dark Side Sliders. Meanwhile, at home, he struggles to support the weight of his dad’s grief on top of his own.
The upcoming Athletics Carnival is Ant’s chance to prove himself. But with tensions between him and Holden at an all-time high, how will he find the strength to keep holding on?
